As the most commonly used alloy, Titanium Grade 5 Flat Bars exhibit significantly greater strength than other commercially pure titanium varieties while retaining the same toughness and thermal characteristics (except thermal conductivity). This alloy is the most widely used in the alpha-beta phase and is also the most prevalent among all titanium alloys.

Although “commercially pure” titanium possesses acceptable mechanical properties and has been employed in orthopedic and dental implants, for most applications, Titanium Grade 5 Hexagonal Bars are alloyed with small amounts of aluminum and vanadium, typically 6% and 4%, respectively, by weight. The mechanical properties for fracture-critical applications of our Titanium Grade 5 Triangular Bars can be enhanced through processing and heat treatment. While Titanium Grade 5 Bars exhibit resistance to general corrosion, they may be susceptible to environments that lead to the breakdown of the protective oxide layer, including hydrofluoric (HF), hydrochloric (HCl), sulfuric, and phosphoric acids.
